Farming for Sustainability Project – Agriculture – Appeal

The Agricultural Sector continues to be the most important sector in Uganda; it employs approximately 72% of the population and contributed about 32% to the GDP. However, Productivity is limited by reliance on natural weather conditions and the widespread use of traditional methods and equipment.

The fact that food is one of the most pressing needs, no human being can survive for long without it. No one can bypass eating; be it the neediest or those who can afford it. This implies that there is ready market for any food item produce as long as it is of good quality.

As TICO, the donations and different forms of support we attain from different individuals and companies cannot sustain the different projects conducted and to help us fully serve the big number of needy people. We therefore aim at venturing into projects which can help us arrive at sustainability in the near future and conducting extensive agriculture is one of them. The food we are to grow will be donated to vulnerable people we serve and the surplus will be sold to earn an income which we will eventually use to finance other projects.

To maximize productivity, TICO will implore usage of modern farming techniques and tools as guided by technical experts in the field of Agriculture.

The second farming season of 2024 is soon approaching and we need to raise ten million eight hundred and thirty thousand shillings (Ugx 10,830,000) that is USD 2838 to plant crops/plants on five (5) acres of land.

To be able to achieve the main goal of TICO, sustainability, we need generous individuals and companies to fund this project through provision of seeds and other agricultural resources as needed to grow good quality crops. We aim at growing crops like maize, beans, cassava, banana, onions and sweet potatoes. Your donation will not only change the financial status of the organisation but also restore hope and create an everlasting impact in the lives of the needy through services provided.
