58% of Ugandan women report experiencing embarrassment during menstruation, with one in five citing insensitive comments from male peers. Around 40% of adolescent girls miss school due to menstruation, losing 4 to 7 learning days each month. This absence disrupts education, widens academic gaps, and perpetuates gender inequality.

Limited knowledge about menstrual health, lack of menstrual hygiene products and stigma contribute to high absenteeism rates, negatively impacting girls’ academic performance and long-term opportunities.

This project addresses these challenges by educating both girls and boys in menstrual hygiene management, general body cleanliness and training girls in reusable sanitary pads making ensuring no girl misses school due to menstruation.

Support with Ugx 30,000 (USD 8.7) to ensure a girl has access to knowledge and skills to combat stigma and school absence.
