According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (2021), 41% of Uganda’s population lives in absolute poverty, earning less than U.S. $1.77 per person per day. These vulnerable families face significant challenges, including food insecurity, emotional stress, homelessness, and more. Without assistance, their hopes diminish, and their situations worsen over time.
Twahirah Islamic Charity Organisation (TICO) is committed to making a difference in the lives of these vulnerable individuals and families through our Relief Program.
Our Women Empowerment Projects include;
Skill Development Programs:
TICO offers skill development programs to equip women with practical skills such as tailoring, craft-making, and small-scale business management. These skills enable women to generate income and become financially independent.
Entrepreneurship Training:
TICO provides entrepreneurship training to help women start and manage their own businesses. Through this training, women learn about business planning, financial management, and marketing strategies.
Microfinance and Savings Programs:
TICO facilitates access to microfinance and savings programs, allowing women to access financial services and save for the future. These programs help women to build financial stability and plan for their families’ needs.
Through these initiatives, TICO aims to empower women to become self-sufficient and support their children and families effectively.
