Agriculture is the backbone of Uganda’s economy, with 70% of the population depending on it as their main source of income and employment. However, many farmers operate on a small scale and use outdated farming methods, resulting in low-quality and low-yield produce.
Twahirah Islamic Charity Organisation (TICO) is committed to supporting farmers and improving agricultural practices through our Agriculture Program.
Our Agriculture Program includes:
Provision of Quality Seedlings:
TICO provides farmers with quality seedlings to improve the quality and quantity of their produce.
Training in Modern Farming Techniques:
We offer training to farmers in modern farming techniques, including poultry farming, animal husbandry, and crop disease prevention. By adopting modern farming practices, farmers can boost their agricultural produce and improve their family’s livelihood.
Provision of Agriculture Equipment:
TICO also provides farmers with essential agriculture equipment to enhance their farming operations. Access to modern equipment helps farmers increase efficiency and productivity, leading to improved livelihoods.
Through our Agriculture Program, TICO aims to empower farmers, improve agricultural productivity, and contribute to the economic development of rural communities.
