At Twahirah Islamic Charity Organisation (TICO), we believe that every child deserves a firm foundation in both their formal education and their spiritual growth. However, in many impoverished rural areas across Uganda, accessing foundational religious learning materials remains a severe challenge for vulnerable families.
Kamuli District is home to thousands of resilient but underprivileged children. Many of the pupils attending local community schools are orphans or come from low-income households. For these families, simply struggling to afford basic school fees means that investing in essential Islamic learning resources is a luxury they unfortunately cannot fulfill.
To bridge this gap and protect our children’s right to learn their Deen, TICO stepped in with a targeted intervention. On Thursday, 25th June 2026, our team visited Atiqa Islamic Nursery and Primary School in Kamuli District to deliver vital educational resources.
We are overjoyed to report that TICO successfully donated 20 copies of the Holy Qur’an and 74 copies of the Yassarna (the foundational Arabic reading guide). This timely intervention is already directly benefiting over 140 needy and orphaned pupils who now have enough high-quality resources to study, recite, and connect deeply with the words of Allah.

Your generosity has placed the Holy Qur’an directly into the hands of a child who will read it for years to come establishing a beautiful, continuous cycle of blessings (Sadaqah Jariyah) for all involved.
