Safe & Clean Water Initiative

Over 8.4 million people in Uganda live without safe and clean water which makes them vulnerable to many water borne diseases. The most affected communities are those in rural areas because they get water from swamps and ponds. Such people use these water sources with animals which poses a danger to their life.

Given our African setting, it is a child’s responsibility to fetch water in homes and schools and it has left many children not being able to engage in other productive activities like going early for school, playing, and socializing with fellow children. Fetching that water from unclean and far sources puts them in a lot of risk raging from dangers they find on the way to and from fetching water, to water borne diseases.

TICO ensures access to safe and clean water in marginalised communities since water is life, through construction of water wells and distribution of water tanks.
